Statement of Biodiversity Priorities

We are in a global biodiversity crisis, and biodiversity is declining faster than ever before. The good news is that in many cases we know what we need to do to halt and reverse the declines of nature. The purpose of a Local Nature Recovery Strategy is to identify priority actions and locations to continue to drive the recovery of nature.

This is an opportunity for nature and we all have a role in making that happen, so we need as many people as possible to know about the LNRS and see how they can help us to deliver the proposed actions.

The Draft Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) for Nottinghamshire and Nottingham is now ready for public consultation, for a 6-week period between 6th May and 16th June.

There are two main components that make up the LNRS: a written document called the ‘Statement of Biodiversity Priorities’ and an online map called the ‘Local Habitat Map’. You will need to look at both in order to be able to provide your feedback.

The following documents are available to view or download as PDF files:

Draft written Statement of Biodiversity Priorities (82 pages)

Appendix 1 – Statement of Engagement

Appendix 2 – Membership of the Strategic Oversight and Advisory Groups

Appendix 3 – Process for developing Priorities and Potential Measures

Spreadsheet – Notts LNRS Priorities and Measures

Appendix 4 – National Environmental Objectives

Appendix 5 – Identifying Priorities and Potential Measures for Species Recovery

Appendix 6 – Process for the mapping of Measures and ACBs

A short, summary document is also available which provides a quick overview of the key points of the LNRS and how it has been developed.
